Tomorrow night, May 30, the San Diego Museum of Art will keep it's doors open late for one of their Culture & Cocktails events. The evening is inspired by their new exhibit, Piranesi, Rome, and the Arts of Design and will feature all things Italian, including a signature cocktail.
I recently visited the Piransesi exhibit and I was impressed by what I saw. The exhibit is HUGE. There are over 300 original prints plus some modern-day touches, including a cool 3-D installation. And because the exhibit is well organized, it isn't overwhelming. (It is broken down into smaller sub-topics and slowly unfolds you walk through the space.) Near the back, the exhibit has built-in architectural features, which reminded me of walking through Roman arches. A subtle, but special touch.
Tickets to Culture & Cocktails: Piranesi are $15 for the general public and free for museum members. For more information, head here.
And if you can't make it to the museum tomorrow night, don't panic. The Piranesi exhibit will be on view through July 7, 2013.
