It's a Museums on Us weekend

During the first weekend of every month, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders receive free admission to participating museums just by showing their credit or debit card. This means that this coming weekend, May 4 and 5, you can attend some of your local museums free-of-charge.

Museums on Us is nation-wide promotion, but I'm just going to mention the SoCal museums because otherwise the list is gloriously overwhelming. For a complete list of participating museums and dates, click here
Orange County - Laguna Art Museum and Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana
Los Angeles County - Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, LACMA, Autry National Center, Skirball Cultural Center, and Hammer Museum

I have heard great things about Noah's Arc at the Skirball and I would love to see the Levitated Mass at LACMA. Have you been?

Note: You'll notice that I often mention the price of admission in these posts, which I realize may make me sound cheap. I am all for supporting museums and paying the admission price (and often do).  However, when a promotion is offered, I take full advantage of it. True, museums need money to operate; but they exist because they want to share what they know and/or what they have collected with you. So don't feel bad if you take them up on their offer to go visit them for free every once in a while because usually some big company or donor is footing the bill for that day. Just remember to say thank you when you leave and consider coming back another day with all of your closest friends.

P.S. This is not a sponsored post. Museums on Us is a trademark of Bank of America.
