Bottled and Kegged at the San Diego History Center

Located in Balboa Park, the San Diego History Center is committed to sharing the history of their city. Their new exhibit, Bottled & Kegged: San Diego's Craft Brew Culture, explores over 100 years of brewing history in San Diego County. This topic was a smart choice by the History Center because I imagine it draws a different crowd to the museum, myself included.

What I liked:
1.The brewing timeline, which wraps around the exhibit
2. Learning the history behind some of my favorite local breweries
3. The clips of the documentary SUDS County, USA (especially the screen in the back of the exhibit where you can pull up a stool and sit down)

Kudos to the History Center for compiling all of this information in one space.

To promote Bottled & Kegged, the museum has launched a new event series called History Happy Hours. On the last Friday of every month through September, the museum will host a happy hour inside the exhibit. Tickets are $25 for the general public and includes admission, tastings, light appetizers, and a commemorative glass. The next History Happy Hour is this Friday, June 28 and will feature beers from Amplified Ale Works.

P.S. Brandon Hernandez wrote this behind-the-scenes post for Stone's blog. I thought it was an interesting supplement to the exhibit.
