(Thursday) Night at the Museum

Looking for something to do on Thursday evening? I just discovered that there is not one, but TWO fun things happening at museums in San Diego County on Thursday. Two!

You have options.

I love options.

Your first option is to attend Free Third Thursday at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego's Downtown Campus. From 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday, the Museum is offering free admission to all guests. But! Just in case you didn't know, MCASD's La Jolla Campus is completely closed through Friday as it is currently installing three new exhibitions. So don't go there. Just head to MCASD Downtown. And while you're there, you can check out Liza Lou's Color Field.

Meanwhile over in Balboa Park, San Diego Museum of Man will be hosting craft brew tastings from 6:00pm until 8:00pm inside their new exhibition, BEERology. I just went to see BEERology today. (It was Resident Free Tuesday.) The exhibit is small, but really interesting. For example, did you know that laborers working on the Egyptian Pyramids were paid in beer??? Tickets to the event are $30 for non-memmbers and that includes admission to the Museum and tastings from Dogfish Head, AleSmith, Left Coast, Lucky Buddha, and Ninkasi.

So on Thursday you can choose art or beer or both.

Both sounds like a good option to me.
